Biography

Sandi Haber Fifield (b. Youngstown, Ohio) received her MFA from Rochester Institute of Technology. Her work has been widely exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the United States including: The Art Institute of Chicago; The De Cordova Museum, Lincoln, MA; The Museum of Modern Art, New York; The National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington, DC; The Oakland Museum, Oakland, CA; The Philadelphia Museum; The Southeast Museum of Photography, Daytona Beach, FL; and The St. Louis Museum. Haber Fifield’s photographs are the subject of four monographs: The Certainty of Nothing; After the Threshold; Between Painting and Picking; and Walking through the World. Additional publications that include Haber Fifield’s work are Defining Eye, Women Photographers of the 20th Century; Fabrications by Anne Hoy; and The Photography of Invention by Merry Foresta, among others. Her work is included in numerous major public collections. She lives and works in Shelter Island, New York.
